Kirt Stalker Dies in Pontiac Intersection Motorcycle Crash Versus a GMC Canyon [Oakland, CA]

[Oakland, California] Tragedy struck early Friday, Sept. 15, at a bustling Pontiac intersection, claiming the life of a 70-year-old White Lake Township man. The fatal crash unfolded at approximately 7:46 a.m. at the juncture of East Huron Street and northbound Woodward Avenue.

Kirt Stalker, the unfortunate victim, was riding his 2018 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, traveling east on East Huron Street. His journey was abruptly halted when a 29-year-old Waterford Township woman, piloting a 2016 GMC Canyon, turned into Stalker’s path. Both were advancing in the same direction, but the woman, in the adjacent lane, made a perilous turn, leading to the collision.

Despite Stalker’s precautions, which included wearing a helmet, the severity of the impact cost him his life at the crash site.

Further casting a shadow over the Oakland motorcycle crash, the sheriff’s deputies have grounds to believe the Waterford woman may have been under the influence of alcohol. Blood tests are in progress to confirm these suspicions. Miraculously, neither the woman nor her 15-year-old passenger sustained injuries. Preliminary assessments credit their seatbelts for their safety.

While the immediate aftermath witnessed a myriad of questions and grief, the sheriff’s crash reconstruction unit is diligently piecing together the details, ensuring a thorough and transparent investigation. The community awaits answers, hoping for justice and a resolution that underscores the importance of responsible driving.
