Driver Arrested for Attempted Murder, Motorcyclist Injured

Folsom, California — A Folsom driver faces attempted murder charges after allegedly hitting a motorcyclist with an SUV on July 16, according to authorities. 

The Folsom Police Department confirmed on Thursday that the incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. at the East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road intersection.

Responding to multiple emergency calls, police arrived to find a motorcyclist injured following a collision. Investigators revealed that the driver of the SUV had pursued and deliberately struck the motorcyclist, leading to the arrest of 23-year-old Anders Erikson of Folsom.

Erikson was promptly taken into custody and booked on charges of attempted murder. The motorcyclist sustained a broken ankle and other minor injuries in the incident.

The Folsom Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges and the deliberate nature of the act.
