Cherry Valley, California – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on September 5, 2023, claiming the life of a teen rider. The fatal motorcycle accident in Cherry Valley Boulevard near Hannon Road happened around 5:55 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the young rider was heading eastbound on Cherry Valley while riding his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. He encountered a situation where traffic ahead of him had come to a stop.
In an attempt to maneuver around the halted traffic, a 54-year-old woman from Thermal, driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra, initiated a left turn onto northbound Hannon Road.
Tragically, the motorcycle collided with the Nissan, resulting in the ejection of the teenage rider. Immediate medical attention was provided as paramedics rushed the teen to Loma Linda University Medical Center, but regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. The victim was a 17-year-old resident of Cherry Valley, and authorities confirmed that he possessed a valid motorcycle license.
Neither the driver of the Nissan nor her passenger, a 41-year-old woman, sustained any injuries during the incident. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
