NAPA COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a Napa crash early Monday that led to the temporary closure of part of Silverado Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP Officer Marc Renspurger reported that the collision occurred just before 6:30 a.m. near Hardman Avenue. Authorities closed Silverado Trail between Trancas Street and Hardman Avenue as investigators worked at the scene. The road reopened by 9:45 a.m.
The Napa County Sheriff’s Office urged residents to avoid the area during the investigation. Exact details of the crash, including the identity of the motorcyclist and possible causes, have not yet been released.
This marks the second fatal crash in Napa County in less than three days. On Sunday night, a Toyota Sienna XLE veered off Pope Valley Road and struck a tree, killing six people and injuring two others. The driver, 53-year-old Norberto Celerino Villalva, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and murder.
