Motorcycle Rider Killed in Lake Hughes Collision Identified

Los Angeles, California — A motorcycle rider who died after being struck by a vehicle in the Lake Hughes area of the Antelope Valley has been identified.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office announced Sunday that the victim was 41-year-old Daniel Reinhardt. He succumbed to multiple blunt-force traumatic injuries sustained in the crash. The city of residence Reinhardt has not been disclosed.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to the scene around 11:07 p.m. on Friday at Trail E and Elizabeth Lake Road. According to CHP Officer Erik Larsen, Reinhardt was ejected from his motorcycle during the collision. Paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.

The collision also resulted in damage to a nearby utility pole. The circumstances leading up to the crash are currently under investigation by CHP.
