A man lost his life, and a two-year-old child sustained injuries following a motorcycle crash in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to CHP, the Lakeside motorcycle crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Monday when a 63-year-old man was operating a three-wheel Honda motorcycle, heading eastbound on Serena Road, west of Serena Lane.
Unfortunately, the man had a two-year-old boy as a passenger on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. CHP Public Information Officer Jared Grieshaber stated in a news release that the driver lost control of the vehicle while approaching a right curve, causing them to veer off the paved portion of the road.
The driver and the child, who were not wearing helmets, were ejected from the motorcycle during the crash.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the man suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash site. The child was transported to Rady Children’s Hospital via ground ambulance with minor injuries.
