Fremont, California — On August 30, 2024, the Fremont community gathered to remember 16-year-old Dylan Reagan, who tragically died in a motorcycle crash earlier that week.
Reagan, a junior at Mission San Jose High School, was just one month away from his 17th birthday when the accident occurred on Wednesday, August 28.
According to authorities, Reagan was riding his motorcycle to the gym shortly before 6 p.m. when he collided with a car at an intersection near Stratford School on Osgood Road.
The vehicle, traveling in the opposite direction, turned left into Reagan’s path. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but Reagan succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
During the vigil, Reagan’s father described his son as a person of exceptional character, stating, “His life is not over; he just moved on to the next chapter that we call life.” Friends and family reflected on Reagan’s dedication to community service and his athletic achievements.
“He was very kind, very passionate,” remembered Sean Sawan, a cousin. Farial Farhang, a friend, noted Reagan’s commitment to helping others beyond the scope of community service requirements.
Concerns were raised about the safety of the intersection where the crash happened. The police are still investigating the cause of the crash, though they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
The community extends its deepest condolences to the Reagan family during this difficult time. May the support of friends and family provide some comfort as they navigate this profound loss.
