Tragic Motorcycle Accident in Hesperia Claims One Life and Leaves Another Critically Injured

[Hesperia, CA] A tragic motorcycle accident in Hesperia, resulted in the death of one person and critical injuries to another. At around 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, a collision took place at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Sultana Street involving an off-road motorcycle and a pickup truck.

Authorities from the Hesperia Station and the San Bernardino County Fire Department promptly responded to the incident. Upon investigation, it was determined that a red/white 2003 Honda off-road motorcycle with two riders, a male and a female, was traveling west on Sultana Street. 

Simultaneously, a maroon 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was heading south on Seventh Avenue. Unfortunately, the motorcycle driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign and entered the intersection, where it collided with the Silverado.

Tragically, the male rider of the motorcycle, identified as Anthony R. Huante, a 40-year-old resident of Hesperia, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female rider sustained severe injuries and was airlifted via a Mercy Air helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Her identity has not yet been confirmed.

The 17-year-old driver of the Silverado remained uninjured. It has not been determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, and investigations are ongoing. The affected roadways were closed for several hours while the Hesperia Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) processed the scene.
