Lake Elsinore, California — A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park when a 9-year-old girl lost her life in a motocross crash. Brooke Carlton, a young rider from Vista, was pronounced dead at Wildomar’s Inland Valley Hospital shortly after the 10:04 a.m. incident on Sunday, June 2.
According to Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau reports, Brooke was riding an electric motorbike at the track at 20700 Cereal Street. Tragically, she collided with another juvenile rider, who was also on an off-road motorbike. First responders found Brooke unconscious at the scene.
The Carlton family expressed grief in a heartfelt GoFundMe post, remembering Brooke as a spirited, warm-hearted girl. “Yesterday, the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track,” they wrote. “While we take this time to be with our family, PLEASE lift our family into your thoughts and prayers.”
The incident serves as a sad reminder of the importance of safety precautions in motocross sports. Our thoughts are with Brooke’s family during this difficult time.
