Tragedy Strikes as Motorcyclist Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Accident in Mission Hills Intersection [Mission Hills, CA]

Mission Hills, Los Angeles – A devastating hit-and-run accident in Mission Hills unfolded on Sunday resulting in the tragic death of a motorcycle rider who was struck by a dark-colored sedan at an intersection. The unfortunate collision took place at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Chatsworth Street, close to Chatsworth Drive, near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Reportedly, the sedan, traveling southwest on Chatsworth Drive, disregarded a red traffic signal while making an eastbound turn onto Chatsworth Street. This reckless maneuver led to a collision with a westbound motorcycle. Shockingly, the driver of the sedan chose to flee the scene instead of adhering to the legal obligation of reporting the accident and staying at the site.

Emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene and transported a man aged between 40 and 45 years to a nearby hospital. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention. Authorities have chosen to withhold his identity pending notification of his relatives.

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking assistance from anyone who might have been in the vicinity of Chatsworth Drive and Chatsworth Street around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday or possess any additional information regarding this tragic incident. They encourage individuals with information to contact Valley Traffic Division Detective Ortega at 818-644-8035 or Officer Freeman at 818-644-8115.
