La Habra, California — An on-duty motorcycle officer sustained critical injuries in a traffic collision in La Habra on Thursday morning, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred on August 8 at approximately 9:15 a.m. at the Lambert Road and Walnut Street intersection. The La Habra Police Department reported that the officer’s motorcycle was struck, leaving debris scattered across the intersection.
The injured officer was immediately transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition, according to an official statement released by the La Habra Police Department later in the day.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene to assist with traffic control and support the ongoing investigation. CHP spokesperson Luis Quintero confirmed the agency’s involvement, noting that the investigation into the crash is still underway.
