Oakdale Woman Dies in Solo Motorcycle Crash on Highway 108

Tuolumne County, California — A 34-year-old Oakdale woman lost her life in a solo motorcycle crash on Highway 108, east of Clark Fork Road, on Thursday afternoon, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The tragic incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. while the woman was riding her 2024 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Highway 108. According to the CHP release, she “allowed the motorcycle to leave the roadway,” resulting in the motorcycle overturning and her being ejected.

CHP spokesman Officer Steve Machado noted that there were no witnesses to the crash, leaving the circumstances of how the motorcycle left the road unclear. As of late Monday morning, it remained undetermined whether drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role in the incident. The woman’s identity is being withheld until her family has been notified.

This crash is the first of two fatal solo motorcycle incidents in the region within the past week. On Sunday, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a separate accident on Highway 132, east of Roberts Ferry.

Authorities are urging motorcyclists to exercise caution on these rural highways, emphasizing the importance of safe riding practices.
