Motorcyclist Injured in Highway 101 Buellton Accident

Buellton, California — A motorcycle accident on Highway 101 in Buellton left a motorcyclist injured on Saturday evening, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the incident shortly after 3:30 p.m. The crash occurred in the northbound lane of Highway 101 near Santa Rosa Road. 

Upon arrival, officers found the 55-year-old motorcyclist in the left-hand lane, suffering from moderate injuries. The injured rider was promptly airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by Copter 4 for medical treatment.

In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the CHP temporarily closed the affected lanes of Highway 101 to manage the situation and ensure the safety of other motorists. The lanes were reopened later as conditions permitted.

Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the motorcycle accident. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under scrutiny as the CHP gathers more information.
