VALLEJO, California – A tragic accident on Christmas Eve claimed the life of a motorcyclist after a collision with a pickup truck late Tuesday night, according to the Vallejo Police Department (VPD).
Details of the Incident
The crash occurred at approximately 11:21 p.m. at the intersection of Marin Street and Florida Street. According to authorities, both the motorcycle and the pickup truck were traveling in opposite directions on Marin Street, with green lights for both vehicles.
The collision happened when the truck attempted a left turn, failing to yield to oncoming traffic. The motorcyclist crashed into the truck bed and sustained life-threatening injuries. Despite being rushed to a hospital, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation and Driver Cooperation
The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation by the Vallejo Police Department. Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Coroner is withholding the victim’s identity until the family has been notified.
