Cajon Pass, CA – A motorcycle accident in Cajon Pass claimed the life of 58-year-old Donald “Donny” Leroy Post, a resident of Victorville, on Sunday, May 11, 2025—Mother’s Day. The crash occurred on southbound Interstate 15, just past the Oak Hill Road exit, following a collision with a silver sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Details of the Tragic Crash
The incident took place around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday in lane No. 1 of southbound I-15, just south of Oak Hill Road in the Cajon Pass area. Preliminary reports from CHP indicate that Donald “Donny” Leroy Post was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a silver Chevrolet sedan. The impact violently ejected him from his motorcycle, leaving him critically injured on the roadway.
Minutes after the collision, emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived and provided immediate medical assistance. Due to the severity of his injuries, Mercy Air #22 was dispatched and landed directly on the closed freeway. The air medical crew airlifted Post to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, Donald Post died hours later at the hospital from the injuries sustained in the crash. The collision prompted a full closure of southbound I-15 for nearly two hours, causing significant traffic delays while first responders secured the scene, cared for the victims, and cleared the wreckage.
