📍 Livermore, CA – A tragic motorcycle crash and truck fire led to a complete closure of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 580 (I-580) early Tuesday morning, June 3, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Details of the Crash
The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. near the Isabel Avenue exit ramp when a motorcyclist lost control of the bike for unknown reasons. The rider was violently thrown onto the freeway and was then struck by at least two vehicles. Another car and a commercial truck also collided with the downed motorcycle.
The impact caused a massive fire, engulfing the front of the semi-truck. On-scene photos reveal the truck’s cab was completely burned.
One Fatality Confirmed
The motorcyclist died at the scene. One of the involved drivers, who asked to remain anonymous, said they felt “shaken and heartbroken” by the experience.
“It was a tough thing to witness. A complete tragedy,” the driver told local media.

As a result of the crash and fire, all eastbound lanes of I-580, from Airway Boulevard to Isabel Avenue, were shut down for several hours. Crews worked to clear the debris, extinguish the blaze, and gather evidence to determine the exact cause of the collision.
