Motorcycle Crash on Pacific Coast Highway Claims Oxnard Rider’s Life

Jonathan Genavia, a 35-year-old resident of Oxnard, lost his life in a devastating motorcycle accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road in Ventura County. The collision occurred late Saturday afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., as reported by the Ventura County Star.

Riding a southbound Harley-Davidson on PCH, Genavia’s path was unexpectedly obstructed when a man driving a Toyota Corolla, who had stopped on the right shoulder, pulled out directly into his trajectory. The collision between the two vehicles resulted in the rider being thrown onto the roadway.

Promptly responding to the scene, paramedics attended to the injured motorcyclist and transported him by helicopter to the nearest hospital. Tragically, Jonathan Genavia passed away before the helicopter could take off.

The 74-year-old Oxnard man operating the Toyota Corolla remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Tow trucks were summoned to remove the damaged vehicles from the freeway, as investigators diligently work on determining the full circumstances surrounding the motorcycle crash on Pacific Coast highway. Witnesses who may have valuable information regarding the incident can reach out to the CHP’s Ventura-area office at 805-662-2640.

In support of the victim’s family, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to provide assistance during this difficult time.
