In a tragic incident on Wednesday morning, a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle resulted in the loss of life, as confirmed by authorities news outlets.
According to the Coronado Police Department, a traffic enforcement officer noticed a motorcyclist traveling at high speed in a northbound direction on State Route 75 around 7 a.m. The officer attempted to stop the motorcyclist for the traffic violation, but the rider failed to yield and allegedly accelerated to evade capture.
As the motorcyclist approached the intersection at Coronado Cays, a collision occurred when the motorcyclist struck a vehicle crossing the intersection, as reported by CPD. The traffic officer promptly requested medical assistance and administered first aid to the motorcyclist. Despite the efforts, the motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Fortunately, the vehicle driver involved in the motorcycle crash in Coronado Cays did not sustain any injuries.
