A multi-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and two SUVs has disrupted morning traffic on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Balboa Boulevard in Sylmar. The incident transpired at approximately 6:39 a.m. on Oct. 2nd, south of Newhall, as confirmed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The sequence of events that led to the collision remains unclear. However, according to CHP officials, the motorcyclist and the SUVs clashed around the juncture transitioning from the southbound Antelope Valley 14 Freeway to the southbound Interstate 5. Subsequent to the impact, the motorcyclist crashed within the HOV and No. 1 lanes of the I-5 Freeway, after a reported collision with a black Cadillac SUV.
Numerous passersby halted their journeys to assist the injured motorcyclist until professional medical help arrived. The Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics subsequently attended the scene to tend to the rider’s injuries. To aid in restoring the flow of traffic and ensuring safety, a tow truck was summoned to remove the motorcycle from the freeway.
