LOS ANGELES, CA — A motorcycle accident on the 101 Freeway transition to the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks caused significant traffic delays Friday morning after a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Details of the Crash
The crash was reported shortly before 11:00 a.m. on the westbound 101 Freeway connector to the northbound 405 Freeway.
CHP logs indicated that a motorcyclist was initially reported down in the roadway and not moving, raising concerns about serious injuries. However, the rider was later seen attempting to walk toward the shoulder, suggesting they may have survived the initial impact.
As of late morning, at least one lane remained blocked, and traffic backed up as far as Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
Authorities advised drivers to avoid the area or expect delays while crews worked to clear the scene.
