Teen Killed in Truck and Motorcycle Crash in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, CA — A 17-year-old motorcyclist from Junction City, Kansas, was killed Friday afternoon in a truck and motorcycle crash on Auberry Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Details of the Crash

The collision was reported around 3:00 p.m. just south of the Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club. CHP officers responded after the Fresno County Communications Center received multiple calls reporting a serious crash.

Preliminary findings indicate the teenager, identified as Jayce Alonzo, was riding a BMW S1000RR motorcycle southbound on Auberry Road as he approached a right-hand curve. At the same time, a Ford F-350 pickup truck, driven by a 39-year-old man, was traveling northbound toward the same curve.

According to CHP, the motorcycle crossed over the solid double yellow lines into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the truck. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle, throwing him onto the roadway.

Emergency crews arrived and provided medical aid, but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

Investigation Status

CHP confirmed that the motorcyclist was wearing a full-face helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors. The motorcycle came to rest on the west shoulder of the road, while the truck stopped partially in the northbound lane and partially on the east shoulder.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
