Los Angeles, California — A tragic motorcycle crash on Saturday afternoon led to an extended SigAlert on the 101 Freeway in Studio City. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes, close to the intersection of Lankershim and Ventura Boulevards, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation; however, initial reports suggest that a motorcyclist was struck and subsequently ejected from their vehicle. Unfortunately, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
In response to the accident, CHP issued a SigAlert, which closed all lanes except the No. 5 lane for several hours. The alert was lifted at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Aerial footage captured the scene, revealing a severely damaged silver sedan parked near a covered body. Authorities have yet to provide additional details regarding the crash.
