CHP Reports Another Deadly Motorcycle Accident on Highway 65

A tragedy occurred on Friday, August 11, 2023, near Lincoln as a 27-year-old motorcyclist died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 65, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident took place around 5:39 p.m. at the crossing of Nelson Lane in the unincorporated area of Placer County. According to statements from witnesses and video footage examined by the CHP, the 27-year-old rider, who was operating a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, was struck while entering the intersection against a red light. 

The rider was attempting to execute a left turn, which led to the collision. This maneuver placed the motorcyclist directly in the path of a 2007 Lexus that was traveling westbound on Nelson Lane.

Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead upon arrival at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. The driver of the other vehicle reported experiencing pain but did not require hospitalization for their injuries.
