CHP Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Solo Crash Near Hanford

Motorcyclist Killed in Kings County Crash, CHP Says

KINGS COUNTY, CA — One person was killed on Saturday morning in a motorcycle solo crash on Grangeville Boulevard east of Hanford, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

What We Know About the Crash

CHP officers responded just before 11:00 a.m. to the intersection of Grangeville Boulevard and Fourth Avenue following reports of a motorcycle collision.

Investigators determined that the rider was traveling eastbound on Grangeville Boulevard when he suddenly braked, the reason for which remains unclear. The motorcycle overturned, ejecting the rider onto the roadway.

Despite emergency response efforts, the motorcyclist died at the scene from his injuries, authorities said.

At this time, CHP has not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

CHP continues to examine what caused the rider to brake abruptly, including possible roadway conditions, mechanical issues, or other contributing factors. No additional details about the rider’s identity have been released pending notification of next of kin.
