California Man Fatally Injured in Tipton Motorcycle Crash

A devastating motorcycle accident on an early Saturday morning has resulted in the untimely passing of John J. Lucas, a 41-year-old resident of California. Coroner Marty Ramsdell pronounced Lucas deceased at 7:15 a.m. following the incident, which occurred south of the Missouri 5 and Richard Boulevard intersection in Tipton.

According to the crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Lucas was traveling southbound on Missouri 5 at approximately 6:35 a.m. when his 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide veered off the right side of the road and overturned.

After the Tipton motorcycle crash, Lucas was swiftly transported to Windmill Ridge Funeral Home by Mid Mo Ambulance. Leepers Towing was responsible for towing the totaled motorcycle away from the scene.

Tragically, this incident marks the second fatal crash reported by the Highway Patrol in Moniteau County in 2023, and it is the first fatal crash for Troop F in June, marking the 20th for the year.
