Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident Claims the Life of 68-Year-Old Rider

[Bakersfield, CA] In a devastating incident on the morning of May 28, Gregory Charles Salyer tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Bakersfield. The fatal crash occurred shortly after 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of State Road and Airport Drive. 

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Salyer was traveling westbound on State Road when he entered the intersection at Airport Drive. At that moment, an approaching vehicle failed to stop at a red light, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.

First responders quickly arrived at the scene and discovered Salyer in critical condition, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified Salyer as a 68-year-old resident of Bakersfield. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the authorities.

Authorities have determined that drugs, alcohol, and speeding were not contributing factors to the Bakersfield motorcycle accident.
