Apple Valley Woman Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Lucerne Valley, California — Kristina Kimsey, a 42-year-old resident of Apple Valley, tragically died following a motorcycle accident on Old Woman Springs Road (Highway 247) on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place on June 20, 2024, at approximately 6:25 p.m. near Visalia Avenue, as recorded by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Kimsey was riding her 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when a 2020 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 43-year-old man from Apple Valley, collided with her head-on. According to CHP reports, the Toyota driver crossed the solid yellow line to overtake slower traffic, entering the Harley-Davidson’s path and causing the crash.

Kimsey was ejected from her motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The Toyota driver suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Kristina Kimsey leaves behind three children: James (20), Sophia (18), and Ethan (16). A GoFundMe page has been created to assist Kimsey’s family during this challenging period. Contributions to the fundraiser aim to provide financial support for her bereaved family as they cope with their loss.
