62-Year-Old Man Dies in A Motorcycle Accident on Highway 1

SANTA CRUZ, California — Tragedy struck on Highway 1 near Dimeo Lane in Santa Cruz County as a 62-year-old motorcyclist from Los Gatos lost his life in a collision.

The motorcycle accident on Highway 1 occurred on Saturday afternoon shortly after 2 p.m., close to Wilder Ranch State Park between Santa Cruz and Davenport. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a 2008 Victory Vision motorcycle and a 2003 Toyota Tundra, both traveling southbound.

The CHP report indicates that the two vehicles collided for reasons yet to be determined. Sadly, the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead by first responders at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota, both residents of Santa Cruz, emerged from the accident unharmed. While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings suggest that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the tragic incident.
