20-Year-Old Dies in Indio Vehicle and Motorcycle Crash

Indio, California — A 20-year-old motorcyclist was tragically killed in a collision with a vehicle on Wednesday morning in Indio. The crash occurred on August 14, shortly before 8:30 a.m., on the 81200 block of Avenue 48 near Hjorth Street.

CAL FIRE officials confirmed that the motorcyclist, identified as Bryan Rodriguez of Indio, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was not injured, according to authorities.

The exact cause of the motorcycle crash remains under investigation, with local police working to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal incident.

In the wake of the collision, traffic was diverted at multiple intersections, including Avenue 48 and Madison, Avenue 48 and Calle Diamanté, and Avenue 49 and Hjorth, for several hours as the investigation proceeded. All affected roads were reopened by 1:45 p.m.
